In 2013 Jörn and his artistic partner in many years, Florian Feigl, created a performance event about performance art and magic at Sophiensaele in Berlin. They built a slightly scary magic lounge and invited an exclusive group of guests, for the most part because their artistic practice touched both fields, performance art and magic. Dorte was invited because she had told Jörn the story of performing as a magicians assistent (and Christmas elf) with her father as a child. Her father had recently died and left her a suitcase containing his magician’s props. Using some of these emotionally charged objects, and going back to her long unused magician’s skills, Dorte created her piece called “The Magic in Me”, which became a highlight of the show.
